PAST SPEAKERS

pastspeakers1The Club hosts a number of quality events each year with an emphasis on providing noteworthy speakers, programs of educational interest, and good fellowship gatherings.

The tradition of having outstanding leaders address the Bond Club began close after its founding in 1917. That year, a group of young bond traders assembled to help the U.S. Treasury promote the sale of Liberty Bonds. The relationships they forged in the effort evolved into The Bond Club of New York, Inc.

In the 1920s and 1930s, speakers of unequaled historical stature addressed our membership, which by then had expanded to include investment banking, securities and banking professionals. Pershing, Byrd, Roosevelt, Churchill, LaGuardia, Willkie, Kettering, and Harriman are some of these early stellar speakers.

In the later years, other notable personalities graced our meetings: Halsey, Dulles, Eisenhower, Goldwater, Nelson Rockefeller, Bush, Lindsay, and Rohatyn. Most recently orators include Jack Kemp, Robert Dole, David Rockefeller, Dan Rostenkowski, Walter Cronkite, Colin Powell, and Jack Welch.

The Officers and Board of Governors sincerely hope you’ll join us to each of our events. We promise you thought-providing discourse in our finest tradition. And, of course, don’t miss our Annual Field Day at Sleepy Hollow Country Club.
